Inzoi's Director Hints at Ghost Mechanics Tied to Karma System

The game Inzoi is set to launch in early access, featuring unique elements of realism and paranormal gameplay.

Inzoi will primarily maintain a focus on realism, with a touch of the paranormal.

The early access launch for the new life simulation game Inzoi is approaching in just six weeks. Continuous updates reveal new features, including elements related to the afterlife.

In a recent teaser in Inzoi’s official Discord, game director Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim discussed the game’s approach to ghosts. While the game emphasizes realism, Kjun aims to incorporate some fantastical elements.

“We want to keep the playability of ghosts fairly limited so it doesn’t overshadow the main gameplay, but we also want to ensure the experience is engaging enough when it does happen,” Kjun explained in Discord.

The concept of ‘ghost gameplay’ in Inzoi ties into the karma system. Actions affecting karma were showcased in previous playtests, suggesting significant implications for how characters may progress or regress in the game.

According to Kjun, characters with good karma points will pass peacefully to the afterlife, whereas those with negative karma will linger as ghosts, trying to redeem themselves. Initially, players will not be able to control these ghosts, but future expansions aim to include more gameplay features involving them.

“Any further development for ghosts will have to come after the release,” Kjun added. “That said, our current build allows you to encounter ghosts at set times under specific conditions.”
Translation: Any more development related to ghosts will follow the game’s release, but existing conditions permit ghost encounters at certain times.

As developmental plans continue, Kjun expressed interest in potentially exploring additional paranormal elements down the line. Though the game retains a commitment to refine realistic gameplay elements, the possibility of integrating more fantasy content isn’t ruled out. Keep an eye on everything we know about Inzoi ahead of its upcoming launch.
