CD Projekt Expands Team for The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2

CD Projekt has increased its workforce to nearly 800 as it ramps up development for The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2, following past layoffs.

CD Projekt continues to expand its development teams for The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2, increasing its total headcount to nearly 800. This growth comes after laying off 9% of its workforce two years ago.

The company announced in its H1 financial report that the team working on The Witcher 4 has grown from 422 to 444 since April, while the Cyberpunk 2 team has similarly scaled up from 96 to 116 over the same period.

As joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski stated, “Our recruitment efforts have significantly sped up over the last three months… reaching almost 800 people. This growth was primarily driven by our two largest development teams.” CD Projekt anticipates further increases in headcount for teams working on advanced projects.

The development for both games is described to be in its more advanced stages, with a potential release date for The Witcher 4 speculated to be around 2027. Meanwhile, Cyberpunk 2 may not be expected until after 2030.
