A New Phase Begins for Grow a Garden in Roblox

The developers have announced significant updates for the popular Roblox game, focusing on deeper farming mechanics.

The developer of the Roblox game Grow a Garden has unveiled plans for transformative updates that prioritize depth in gameplay over repetitive events. Recently, Grow a Garden set new records within the platform, reaching an impressive 21 million concurrent players.

However, despite these achievements, Splitting Point Studios, the game’s developer, has expressed dissatisfaction with its current direction. They believe that the height of the game’s success was reached when innovative features such as Pets, Crafting, and Cosmetics were rolled out.

Grow a Garden’s New Era Is All About ‘Depth in the Farm’

In a recent Discord announcement, the dev team emphasized their decision to transition focus from event-based updates to more profound farming and exploration mechanics, stating: “We will add more depth to player farms.” While major events have previously driven interest, the developers noted the challenge of keeping them fresh.

Plans for new gameplay elements include Incubators, Fertilizers, Easter eggs, a Garden Encyclopedia, and even new game modes.

The community’s recent dissatisfaction is driving this shift, as many players have voiced that recent events feel stale. “Everyone feels the weekly events have become repetitive,” the developer noted, assuring fans that while new events will still be held, the main emphasis will be on developing more expansive mechanics.

Ideas being explored include Incubators for quicker hatching times, Fertilizers that temporarily change crop colors, and a Challenge Mode with time-limited objectives. A permanent cooking feature is also on the table, allowing players to utilize their harvested goods in various ways.

There’s currently no set timeline for when these changes will roll out, but Splitting Point Studios aims to implement these new features progressively, with updates expected weekly. It remains to be seen how this new direction will resonate with the player base and whether it will help broaden the appeal of Grow a Garden.
