Multiple Lollipop Chainsaw Projects Under Development

Dragami Games announces its partnership with Nada Holdings to expand the Lollipop Chainsaw IP, leading to exciting new projects.

According to Dragami Games, various Lollipop Chainsaw projects are currently in development as they join forces with Taiwanese investment firm Nada Holdings. Despite its initial release in 2012, Lollipop Chainsaw has continued to thrive, achieving sales of over 1.5 million copies as of 2025.

Back in 2024, Dragami Games launched a remastered edition named Lollipop Chainsaw rePOP, which garnered positive feedback. This version updated the game for modern consoles, inviting PlayStation and Xbox users, as well as Nintendo Switch and PC players, to engage with this beloved zombie hack-and-slash title at enhanced resolutions and with improved gameplay mechanics.

Now, multiple Lollipop Chainsaw projects are on the horizon thanks to the collaboration between the game’s Japanese publisher and the Taiwanese investor. Nada Holdings has a background in partnering with well-known game developers like SEGA and DeNA, yet predominantly focuses on anime and manga, raising speculation about the potential for a Lollipop Chainsaw anime adaptation or possibly a long-awaited sequel.

In Dragami Games’ official announcement, the partnership with Nada Holdings was unveiled as a complex agreement intended to broaden the Lollipop Chainsaw intellectual property. “We aim to collaborate with Dragami Games to produce a variety of new projects,” quoted Nada Holdings chairman Joe Teng. Given that part of the deal involves an investment in both anime and video games, it’s plausible that a sequel or an animated adaptation could be in the pipeline.

At this juncture, with Lollipop Chainsaw rePOP performing well, a sequel appears to be a foreseeable development. An anime or manga interpretation would align with the new contract’s aim of broadening the nearly 13-year-old franchise. However, specific details about future projects remain speculative, as both parties have yet to release concrete plans.

Fans have expressed enthusiasm for this news, with many conveying excitement at the prospect of a sequel to the classic hack-and-slash game. An ongoing question is who will be at the helm of the new game, should it materialize. Grasshopper Manufacture, the remaster’s developer, seems focused on its new intellectual property, Romeo Is a Dead Man, which suggests that a different team may take charge of the franchise moving ahead. For the time being, fans will need to be patient as they await further information about the ongoing projects.
