Anticipation Grows as Rockstar Prepares to Launch GTA 6 Marketing
With the completion of hiring for marketing positions, Rockstar Games is gearing up to boost anticipation for Grand Theft Auto 6.
The marketing process for Grand Theft Auto 6 could soon escalate, as developer Rockstar Games has seemingly finalized an essential hiring process for temporary marketing localization testers. Although job listings did not specifically indicate Grand Theft Auto 6, the advertisement from Rockstar is for a temporary position lasting 12 months, aligning with a title set to be released by the studio within the next year.
Currently, marketing for Grand Theft Auto 6 has been minimal, with the first trailer dropping back in 2023 and a second one released just a few months ago. Rockstar has maintained silence since then, despite releasing over 70 new screenshots and updating the official website for Grand Theft Auto 6 alongside the latest trailer. Fans have eagerly scrutinized every detail of the trailer but are now keen to know when fresh footage and screenshots will appear. While it might still take time, this new development is a promising sign for those awaiting more information.
Recent findings also revealed that Rockstar was likely hiring new staff for the marketing campaign of Grand Theft Auto 6. Although the specific game was not mentioned in the job listings, it was noted that they were looking for ‘Marketing Localization QA Testers’ fluent in various languages for a 12-month term, ensuring staff are available until shortly after the release of Grand Theft Auto 6. Just weeks later, a Twitter user noticed these roles are no longer advertised, suggesting the positions have been filled, which indicates that Rockstar is getting ready to intensify marketing efforts for Grand Theft Auto 6.
Anticipation for Upcoming Trailers
While this is exciting news for those eager for more content from Grand Theft Auto 6, it is necessary to manage expectations. Rockstar likely has a significant workload ahead in preparation for the launch of one of the biggest video game releases ever. Although the recent hiring indicates that some marketing roles are filled, substantial behind-the-scenes efforts may still be required before a full marketing launch can begin.
If previous release patterns hold true, a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 may not be unveiled until next year. Rockstar didn’t present the third trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 until April 2013, merely five months prior to the game’s release. This timeline was similarly mirrored in the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2. Given this trend, it’s plausible that the next trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 might not appear until January 2026.
In an unexpected twist, Rockstar could choose to change their marketing strategy altogether. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged that the best approach might be delivering marketing material closer to the actual release dates.
