Call of Duty: WW2 Thrives On Xbox Game Pass
A report reveals that Call of Duty: WW2 has surged in popularity on Xbox Game Pass, becoming one of the top 10 most-played games.
Call of Duty: WW2 has recently achieved remarkable success on Xbox Game Pass, reportedly becoming one of the most-played games on the platform following its addition to the service. This title was included in the Game Pass lineup on July 30 and received immediate praise from Xbox subscribers.
In contrast, the game’s performance on PC has been less stellar, facing significant challenges including a serious hacking issue that has led players to advise others against playing until Activision addresses the problems. Meanwhile, the console experience shows robust activity with an impressive increase in user engagement only shortly after its Game Pass integration.
According to reports, Call of Duty: WW2’s player numbers on Xbox have soared, marking a rise of over 1,000% and pushing it into the top 10 most-played games, along with newer entries like Black Ops 6. This surge coincides with the game’s previous ranking as low as 163rd before its Game Pass launch.
Additionally, an interesting facet of the game’s development history has surfaced; it was originally intended to include a battle royale mode which was ultimately scrapped before the game’s release. If Activision resolves the hacking issues on PC, similar gains in popularity could potentially be seen for the game on that platform as well.
Given that Microsoft has acquired Activision, it is plausible that more titles from the Call of Duty franchise will make their way to Game Pass in the future, further exciting FPS fans.
