Eric Barone Open to Saving Hytale, But Focused on Haunted Chocolatier

Eric Barone, the creator of Stardew Valley, shared his thoughts on the cancellation of Hytale and his commitment to his new project, Haunted Chocolatier.

Recently, discussions around the revival of Hytale, following its cancellation by Riot Games, have been circulating. The original Hypixel Studios founder, Simon Collins-Laflamme, has expressed his commitment to reach out to Riot for potential solutions. Interestingly, Eric Barone, known for creating Stardew Valley, has also been mentioned in these conversations.

In a Discord message shared by prominent YouTuber Myne, Barone responded positively when asked about his interest in Hytale, stating, “Possibly. But I would have to hear more about what the plan is, why it failed initially (behind the scenes), etc.” This comment suggests he is keeping an open mind regarding taking part in Hytale’s future but is currently focused on his ongoing project, Haunted Chocolatier.

Barone clarified that while he might entertain the idea of helping with Hytale, he has no immediate plans to pursue it, given his dedication to finalizing Haunted Chocolatier. He noted, “I’m not actively doing anything to make this happen… It’s not something I am thinking about too much, since I’m focused on working on my next game.”

Ultimately, while the potential for Barone’s involvement in Hytale excites some fans, it appears his primary commitment lies with Haunted Chocolatier.
