Final Fantasy 14 Expands Access to New Dungeon, Reducing Wait Times

The upcoming updates to Final Fantasy 14 will ease player access to its latest dungeon, addressing ongoing frustrations with instance queue times.

The Occult Crescent in Final Fantasy 14 is a challenge, particularly with getting 48 players grouped in one place to enter the Forked Tower. Here’s a rundown of changes coming in August to ease these frustrations.

The Problem

Most players find it tough to gather 48 players as you can only form eight-player parties, resulting in significant queue issues. Yoshida noted that only 400 clears have occurred so far, highlighting the demand for a streamlined process.

“Many players have tried to clear and prog the Forked Tower, as of yesterday [June 19] there have been more than 400 clears…” Translation: Many players are attempting to complete the Forked Tower, but the number of successful attempts has been low.

What’s Changing?

Scheduled for Patch 7.3, players will finally be able to queue as a premade alliance, simplifying the process and reducing wait times. While the UI might not be perfect at first, the adjustment will help mitigate player frustrations.

Additional Adjustments

Square Enix is also working on improving the entry currency system for Forked Tower. Players can submit additional Sanguine Ciphers, allowing them greater odds of entering the instance.

In essence, these changes signal that Square Enix is listening to community feedback, aiming for a smoother gaming experience.
