'We have people working on fixing the goomba stomping'—Dune: Awakening's PvP is currently overwhelmed by ornithopter pilot squads squashing foes

Dune: Awakening's PvP experiences issues with ornithopter collisions causing frustration among players. Developers are aware of the situation and are working to resolve it.

In the gritty world of Dune: Awakening, the competitive PvP landscape has seen a rise in frustration as players are finding themselves squashed by ornithopter squads. This combat tactic involves players using their aerial advantage to collide with ground enemies without any risk to their flying vehicles.

As one player noted on Reddit, vehicles in the game do not take damage when colliding with opponents, turning ornithopters into excessively effective weapons.

‘Dune developers, I agree to have a defeat in PVP. But being crushed by ornithopter pilots that do not take any damage? No.’
Translation: Players are expressing their discontent with the current state of the game mechanics.

The response from the developers has been swift; Joel Bylos, the creative director, acknowledged the issue saying, “Yeah, sorry about this. We have people working on fixing the goomba stomping ASAP.”

While the oversight has certainly garnered attention—and a fair share of laughs—they are committed to balancing PvP for a smoother gameplay experience.
