Quality Assurance (QA) is often overlooked in game development. Teams dedicated to this task meticulously examine games to ensure everything functions correctly. However, as gaming grows more complex, this process can become tedious, even for enthusiasts. Recognizing this challenge, Razer has developed its new AI tool, QA Companion, designed to aid game developers.
The QA Companion acts as an automated bug finder and logger, allowing playtesters to focus on gameplay instead of getting bogged down in documentation. It integrates seamlessly into existing workflows with plugins available for Unreal Engine, Unity, and custom engines using C++. Developers can also customize settings based on genre or style.
While other companies, like Mighty Build and Test with its TestBot, are creating similar tools, Razer states their solution is meant to augment the QA process, not replace it. Essential human testers will always be needed for insights that AI cannot provide.
