One Year On: Manor Lords Developer Discusses Future Updates and Team Expansion

As Manor Lords enters its second year in early access, developer Slavic Magic outlines exciting new features, AI advancements, and an expanding team.

Manor Lords has spent a year in early access, and despite this seeming short, it has seen significant development. In an update, developer Greg Styczeń, known as Slavic Magic, stated:

“There’s still lots to do, and while I’ve been working on new features and improvements for a while now, I wanted to give you a quick look at what’s coming.”

He emphasized that this is not a comprehensive list, but it indicates the future trajectory of the game’s development.

The coming updates for Manor Lords will feature enhancements like AI progress, an approval system overhaul, and improvements in upkeep mechanisms. For example, the game will enable AI to build and manage its own small village with fluctuating approvals, addressing issues such as village congestion.

Development has expanded as well, with the team growing in size from a solo project to include:

  • Nathan (map design)
  • Tom and Kurtis (programming, from Flix Interactive)
  • Niklas (AI)
  • Basia (2D art)
  • Nicolas (3D art)
  • Darren and James (game design)
  • QLOC for QA support

This team expansion should pave the way for more frequent updates, ultimately enhancing the game further. Manor Lords continues to evolve, promising improved features such as a user interface redesign, aesthetically pleasing graphics inspired by manuscripts, and even new activities such as river fishing where resources can be generated at fishing spots instead of ponds.

As we watch the game mature and the community thrive, it’s exciting to anticipate what lies ahead in Manor Lords. Stay tuned for more updates!
