Changes Under Consideration for Weapon Bloom in Battlefield 6

Developers address player concerns about weapon bloom in Battlefield 6.

Developers Considering Adjustments to Weapon Bloom in Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 developers are contemplating changes to the mechanics of weapon bloom. Players have voiced their frustrations over how shots are registered, leading developers to engage directly with the community regarding the issue.

In a recent video shared on Twitter, streamer TacticalBrit demonstrated the problem—where a shot that seemed perfectly aimed did not hit its target due to an apparent malfunction in the bloom mechanics. Principal Game Designer Florian Le Bihan acknowledged the concerns, noting that although previous bugs had been fixed, two new issues affecting bullet spread have been identified and are currently being examined.

The Impact of Weapon Bloom

Weapon bloom, which has been a staple in the Battlefield series since Battlefield 3, creates a growing inaccuracy the longer players fire their weapons. This mechanic has reportedly been causing players to miss shots that should connect, leading to a need for immediate adjustments.

Florian stated that while fixes for these vexing bloom bugs are underway, he couldn’t provide a timeline for when these changes would be implemented. Players have also reported instances where blood splatter effects occur upon shooting an enemy, yet no damage is dealt.

As Battlefield 6 continues to garner positive reviews, addressing these adjustments swiftly is essential for retaining player engagement. Developers have shown commitment to timely fixes, previously resolving login issues associated with the EA App and offering compensation to affected users. Players remain hopeful for an expedient resolution to the bloom issue, as it significantly affects gameplay performance during matches.

For more updates, players are encouraged to provide feedback directly to developers.
