Forget about Hades 3; let’s talk about Hades 4 instead. In a recent discussion with GamesRadar, Amir Rao, co-founder of Supergiant Games, openly shared the studio’s focus and future aspirations following the successful launch of Hades 2.
Current Focus on Hades 2
As Hades 2 transitions out of early access, Rao conveyed that the team is presently preoccupied with the game’s response rather than laying plans for future titles. In a conversation with Haelian on YouTube, he stated:
“When we’re working on our games, we’re not talking about the next game.”
“Our culture emphasizes being immersed in the current project. If we have a great idea, it goes into this project.”
Rao added that the feedback from players has been instrumental in shaping both Hades and Hades 2, allowing them to enhance the gaming experience. The studio emphasizes the importance of player engagement and community input.
Acknowledging Future Possibilities
Despite curiosity about Hades 3, Rao indicated that no foundational plans exist for it:
“What we’re doing next is just focused on 1.0 and seeing what people are saying about it…it’s not something we secretly know right now.”
Rao’s insights make clear that Supergiant Games, although a compact team of about 25 members, values the quality of work and player responses over the rush to initiate new projects.
