Reports have surfaced about more Dragon Quest remakes being under development, as hinted by the series creator, Yuji Horii. Although none are expected to release before the upcoming Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, they may focus on earlier games in the series.
During a live stream on September 15, Horii discussed potential remakes in response to a question from co-host Kazuhiko “Mashirito” Torishima. He noted that the decision to remake Dragon Quest 7 first was largely coincidental, as he explained:
“A lot of things are moving around, but [the Dragon Quest 7 remake] was just done first by chance.”
Additionally, it appears that the remakes may not be limited to the most recent titles, indicating a possible revival of earlier entries such as Dragon Quest 4, 5, and 6. Updates on the Dragon Quest 7 remake have revealed that Square Enix intends to streamline gameplay by removing unnecessary content and enhancing graphics and game systems.
