Who needs monsters when you can create beautiful characters?
The second Monster Hunter Wilds beta is available for all players. However, if you participated in the previous beta in late 2024, you may find this version lacking in new content. There are some additional monsters to battle, but with the official release just three weeks away, is it really worth downloading?
Not really! Instead, the highlight of this beta is the character creator, which lets you spend as much time as you want designing your character before the game launches. Everything you create now will carry over into the final version.

While you shouldn’t expect the same level of detail as found in some other games, the character creator for Wilds offers impressive options:
- Choose from 45 hair types, with adjustable lengths.
- Customize hair colors with gradients.
- Adjust skin textures, wrinkles, and blending.
- Configure eye sizes and placements.
- Select teeth colors and potential stains.
- Incorporate various makeup and scarring options.
- Choose from 16 beard styles and 11 mustaches.
While you can manipulate numerous aspects of your character’s face and body, the absence of height customization may disappoint some players.
The beta runs until 7 PM on February 9, with another chance to play from February 13 to 16 before the full game is released on February 27. Get ready to invest time perfecting your perfect hunter—and possibly your palico companion too!
