Square Enix Celebrates Fans’ Purchases of Tifa Figures and Nier: Automata Statues

Square Enix expresses gratitude to its fans for their enthusiasm in purchasing character merchandise, especially figures of Tifa Lockheart and a high-end statue of 2B from Nier: Automata.

Square Enix has recently published its financial results for the first three quarters of the fiscal year (from April 2024 to December). The company reported a notable increase in merchandise sales, totaling 14.9 billion yen ($97 million), up from 12.4 billion yen last year.

The increase is attributed to strong sales of character merchandise, particularly a Dragon Quest set, a Tifa Lockheart action figure, and a stunning three-foot tall statue of 2B from Nier: Automata, priced at $2,600.

Square Enix cheekily asks, “Who has been buying the $2,600 Masterline Deluxe 2B statue?” and mentions the Tifa Lockheart figure, priced at $130, which reflects the original game’s character design.

The 2B statue has two versions with distinct features. The deluxe version includes interchangeable parts that highlight the character’s appeal.

Square Enix concludes that the statue “combines power, presence, and beauty.” With witty references to other items, they gauge consumer interest, maintaining a light-hearted tone amidst impressive sales statistics.
