Get Unity of Command 2 for less than a cup of coffee.
While I’m not an enormous wargame fan, Unity of Command is the exception. The original game, released back in 2011, simplified the notorious complexity of the genre into a more approachable turn-based strategy focusing mostly on tactical maneuvers and supply line management rather than base building or economic distractions.
The sequel cleverly expands upon this premise, resulting in one of the best strategy games currently available, and you can grab it now for an impressive 85% off.
Unity of Command 2 maintains the core concepts of the original by emphasizing the defeat of opposing armies through strategic positioning and foresight. Factors like terrain and supply lines significantly influence your units’ effectiveness in combat.
Another new feature is the inclusion of an on-map headquarters which allows you to reinforce units and restore their strength. It also enhances the theater assets from the original game, enabling the deployment of sabotage teams, aerial reconnaissance, and bombing squads for an added combat advantage. This culminates in a large-scale dynamic campaign that puts you in charge of the Western armies during World War 2.
The 85% off promotion reduces the price of Unity of Command 2 to $4.49 (£3.74) on Steam. Notably, the original game is also discounted by 80%, bringing it down to $2 (£1.70). Although both are excellent starting points, the original provides a simpler entry into the world of wargames.
