Microsoft Releases Windows 11 25H2 Update, But It's Mostly Unremarkable

Microsoft's annual Windows update is out, but it lacks any significant new features.

Microsoft’s major annual update for Windows is now available, known as Windows 11 25H2. It’s being rolled out to Windows Insider members ahead of a broader release slated for later in 2025.

Unfortunately, this significant update does not introduce any unique features, as Microsoft has confirmed that it won’t bring anything new beyond what is already available in the 24H2 build of Windows. While this may seem disappointing, there is at least one benefit: the installation can proceed through the usual Windows Update process, ensuring ease of access without complicating installations.

Also, Microsoft emphasizes that the compatibility between versions 24H2 and 25H2 should remain seamless, given that they share the same source code. In this context, the update doesn’t seem to promise major enhancements or fixes, unlike previous versions that brought notable changes. Rather, installing the 25H2 update merely allows users to access features previously disabled.

To sum up, while Microsoft has rolled out its latest update, 25H2, it appears to be a rather uneventful release in terms of new functionalities.
