The future of a new Sly Cooper game from its original developers seems less likely following statements by one of Sucker Punch’s creative directors. Known for championing the Sly Cooper franchise, Sucker Punch shared that the past releases linked to the character were managed by Sanzaru Games, although the earliest entries remain favorites among fans.

Sucker Punch’s Diminished Interest in the Franchise
Sucker Punch co-creative director Nate Fox recently indicated that there is minimal enthusiasm within the team to return to the beloved raccoon character. During a recent interview on the YouTube channel MinnMax, Fox answered various questions, including how many staff members would react positively to working on a new title in the series. He estimated that only 10% might be interested, attributing it to the two decades since the last game was produced by Sucker Punch.
Sly Cooper was a breakout title for Sucker Punch, which has also gained recognition for the Infamous series and is currently engaged in creating a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima named Ghost of Yotei, slated for release on October 2. When asked about earlier comments suggesting potential financial losses from abandoning Sly Cooper, Fox light-heartedly replied, “I hope you enjoy Ghost of Yotei!”
Despite Sucker Punch’s apparent disinterest, fan enthusiasm for a new Sly Cooper adventure remains strong, with many yearning for a return to the series.
