The Battlefield 6 battle royale mode has begun generating buzz as details emerge from the development team. Players will face an unprecedented challenge: anyone caught in the ring that closes around the battlefield will instantly perish. As the developers explained, “There’s no jumping in and out of it, no using it for cover, no walking through it—if you get caught, you are done.”

Despite comparisons to existing battle royale games, this mode aims to retain core Battlefield elements such as squad play, vehicle action, and destruction dynamics. EA is positioning this battle royale experience as a new way to engage in the popular FPS genre, with playtesting slated to commence soon via Battlefield Labs.

Participants will be able to register for upcoming tests, but an official name for the mode has yet to be revealed.

Release Date: The full launch of Battlefield 6 is set for October 10, 2025.
