Narrative Director of Bloodlines 2 Urges Players to Adjust Their Expectations
In contrast to the vast universe of Baldur’s Gate 3, Bloodlines 2 is set to offer a more contained narrative experience.
As anticipation builds for Bloodlines 2, Ian Thomas, the narrative director, emphasizes the need for players to temper their expectations. Unlike Baldur’s Gate 3, which offers a sprawling roleplaying universe, Bloodlines 2 will adopt a more focused narrative approach.
“For me, Baldur’s Gate 3 is writing an entire roleplaying setting, whereas what we’ve done is write a roleplaying module,” Thomas explained.
While characters can choose their clan and gender, creating your character won’t resemble the open-ended processing typical in many RPGs, with Thomas advised against allowing total freedom for character development. He insists that such constraints help shape the story clearly.
As the unveiling of Bloodlines 2 draws near, slated for October 21, fans await to see how these design choices manifest in gameplay.
