I’ve been playing Silksong this week—a lot of Silksong. So much Silksong, in fact, I’ve nearly developed two blisters on my right hand. This happened once before when I got really hyperfocused on learning an Elphelt combo in Guilty Gear: Strive. The things we do for dopamine.
Anyway, I’ve prescribed myself a game that doesn’t hurt my hands, landing on Letters to Arralla, an adorable game where you play as a turnip tasked with delivering mail.
From what I’ve played of the demo, Letters is a delightful little puzzle-exploration sim with a Stardew-esque roster of unique veggie friends. Unlike in real life, where opening someone else’s mail can be a serious crime, it’s encouraged in Arralla—granting insight into your veggie friends.
The game provides an interesting approach to deliveries, relying on context clues and images on the envelopes, and includes quirky tasks that add variety.
Arralla, while small, is charmingly rendered with cozy springs, beaches, and side quests that enhance your experience. I recently helped a jewelry maker escape a dull corporate job while navigating the local intricacies.
If you’re looking for something to relax with after facing a challenging boss in Silksong, Letters to Arralla is set to release on September 16.
