Final Fantasy 14 to Implement Tougher Measures Against Stalking Exploits

The upcoming 7.2 patch aims to address exploitative behaviors in Final Fantasy 14 by introducing effective countermeasures.

The upcoming Patch 7.2 set for March will focus on addressing various exploitation issues in Final Fantasy 14, particularly in relation to stalking behaviors enabled by the game’s blacklist system.

Yoshida has reiterated that effective measures will soon be implemented, aiming to protect player information from being misused. “The one thing we want you to feel safe about is, whenever you read that internal ID, you will never reach personal information or billing information.”

“I am very disappointed that this kind of tool exists, but we will be improving the system going forward.”

This pledge to enhance security comes in light of prior controversies surrounding a plugin that allowed players to stalk characters in-game, leading to significant community concern. The updates in Patch 7.2 are expected to reassure players as the developers vow to take these issues seriously.
