I check for SteamOS update announcements almost every day, and I can’t remember the last time there’s been one as expansive as this. The September 9 Steam Deck client update—the most recent SteamOS update to release via the stable channel—lists 31 general changes, most of which are fixes.
The update also includes many changes specifically for Desktop Mode, Steam Input, Remote Play, Accessibility, and the Lenovo Legion Go S. When I first used the SteamOS version of the Legion Go S, I noticed some quirks. The previously problematic issue regarding Bluetooth activation after being disabled in Desktop Mode has now been resolved. Additionally, the scaling of the on-screen keyboard in Desktop Mode has been improved, addressing a significant irritation.
One noteworthy update for the Legion Go S states: “Added Joystick LED controls under Settings->Customization.” This feature, which allows for RGB control, was appreciated by users who prefer using it. Overall, the update seems to enhance the usability of SteamOS.
