Treyarch Studios’ Design Director for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 explained the game’s Time-to-Kill (TTK) in multiplayer, a topic often debated not only among fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 but also across the first-person shooter genre. Typically, Call of Duty games feature a lower TTK compared to others like Apex Legends or Destiny 2.
Perfecting TTK can be challenging; while some fans prefer a quicker pace, others advocate for a slower style reflecting the arcade roots of the series. Black Ops 6 allegedly struck a balance, though earlier titles have faced mixed reviews.
How Fast Will Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s TTK Be?
The TTK speed for Black Ops 7 will resemble that of Black Ops 6, confirming Treyarch’s direction on the speed dynamics.
Before the launch, fans were informed that Black Ops 6’s TTK was quicker than previous titles. In a recent Twitter post, Matt Scronce confirmed that the TTK speed for Black Ops 7 is “currently sitting around Black Ops 6 TTK”. He noted that this speed is balanced, allowing players sufficient reaction time while ensuring weapon versatility without making opponents feel excessively durable.
Treyarch has been on a hot streak, making numerous requested changes for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, including the allowance of certain skins and blueprints to carry over from Black Ops 6. An open beta will commence on October 5, with early access available for pre-orders starting October 2.
