Hollow Knight: Silksong Faces Mixed Reviews from Chinese Players Over Poor Translation, Team Cherry Commits to Improvement

The new Hollow Knight: Silksong is encountering backlash from Chinese gamers due to translation issues, prompting promises of fixes from the developers.

Hollow Knight: Silksong has seen its review scores drop to a 42% positive rating among nearly 20,000 Chinese players. Feedback indicates severe localization problems.

The developer, Team Cherry, acknowledged the issue, stating they are committed to improving the Chinese translation. Matthew Griffin from Team Cherry noted, “We appreciate you letting us know about quality issues with the current Simplified Chinese translation of Hollow Knight: Silksong. We’ll be working to improve the translation over the coming weeks.”

In contrast, the game enjoys an overall global rating of 80% ‘Very Positive’, with many reviewers outside of China praising it. About 11,800 of the 16,000 negative reviews worldwide originate from Chinese players.
