Paradox Initiates Refunds for Bloodlines 2 Preorders Ahead of Pricing Changes

In light of backlash over DLC pricing, Paradox announces refunds for preorders of Bloodlines 2 Premium Edition as adjustments are set to be revealed.

Beginning Monday, Paradox plans to issue refunds for preorders of the Premium Edition of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. This comes as a response to extensive criticism regarding the pricing of its downloadable content (DLC).

Paradox has stated that customers should expect to receive communication regarding their refunds soon, allowing them to reorder the game after the new pricing strategy is announced on September 17th.

This refund initiative is a direct reaction to pushback against the decision to lock significant game content behind a $30 DLC after an extensive and challenging development process involving two different studios. The backlash stems from players’ frustration that core content was withheld from the base game, with a premium price tag on top.

“All individuals who pre-ordered the Premium Edition through the PlayStation Store will receive a refund starting September 8th,” said a representative for Paradox. They emphasized that this action is part of a broader plan to enhance the gaming experience at launch, scheduled for October 21st.

The ongoing conversation revolves around whether these adjustments will result in a complete inclusion of previously locked clans in the base game free of charge, or merely a price adjustment with some clans remaining as DLC. The outcome remains unclear as both players and publishers await further developments.
