If you’re a fan of first-person shooters (FPS) and haven’t tried Cultic yet, you should definitely check it out. Unlike many retro shooters that draw inspiration from titans like Doom and Quake, Cultic channels the gritty essence of Monolith’s 1997 classic, Blood. The game features an engaging aesthetic that draws players into a nostalgic realm of chaotic action, allowing you to fend off crazed hooded monks armed with dynamite and shotgun blasts, all within expansive, semi-open environments ripe for exploration.
Though its last episode launched almost three years ago, developer Jasozz Studios is returning with exciting news: Cultic: Chapter Two will be released on September 18. Chapter Two shifts from the rural landscape of the initial installment to the fictional urban setting of New Grandewel, echoing elements reminiscent of Resident Evil’s Raccoon City.
Set to be larger than Chapter One, which consisted of only ten levels, Chapter Two will introduce twelve maps, all featuring more detailed environments. Previews also note the addition of new temporary weapons, including machine guns and bazookas, in addition to bringing back fan favorites from Chapter One.
Chapter Two will be available as a paid expansion for $10, coinciding with a complimentary 2.0 update that will enhance Chapter One with new mechanics and optimizations. Don’t miss out on this adventure; mark your calendars for September 18!
