Exciting Update for Black Ops 2 Enthusiasts with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has fantastic news for fans of Black Ops 2. Developer Treyarch Studios has confirmed that the highly anticipated new installment will include remastered maps from the iconic 2012 title that fans have not seen in years.
While Call of Duty has habitually brought back the same popular maps over the years, it seems that Black Ops 7 is set to shake up the formula by revisiting some fan-favorite locations that have been absent for over a decade.
This development comes as a delight for dedicated Call of Duty enthusiasts who have been fans since the early days of the Black Ops franchise. Given that Black Ops 7 is a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, this news is likely to resonate well with the community.
The first reveal of the game occurred in June, followed by a comprehensive worldwide unveiling at Gamescom Opening Night Live last month. Set a decade after the events of Black Ops 2, the next game will reintroduce classic characters like Raul Menendez and David Mason, leading to an exciting new campaign experience.
New Maps from Black Ops 2 Being Remastered
Although fans are yet to get hands-on experience with Black Ops 7, the teaser launch has faced mixed reactions, with some players vocal about switching allegiance to Battlefield 6 instead. However, Treyarch has offered promising new insights that could change fans’ minds. During a recent Twitter Q&A, Matt Scronce confirmed that asked about the possibility of getting some unknowingly remastered Black Ops 2 maps, he said:
“Uh, yeah, you can.”
Historically, various Black Ops 2 maps have been remastered over the years. For instance, maps like Slums, Standoff, Hijacked, and Raid resurfaced during the lifecycle of Black Ops Cold War. However, several maps like Yemen, Aftermath, Cargo, Overflow, and Plaza have remained untouched in their original versions. It’s thrilling to think about seeing them return with the new seasonal updates in Black Ops 7.
Players eager to try out the next Black Ops game won’t have long to wait—the open beta for Black Ops 7 is on the horizon. While it is unclear if any remastered Black Ops 2 maps will be included, testers will experience the new movement systems, weapons, maps, and more. Those who pre-ordered the game will enjoy early access starting October 2, with the wider beta launching on October 5.
