Marvel Rivals Celebrates Award Nomination for Online Game of the Year

Marvel Rivals receives a nomination for Online Game of the Year at the DICE Awards 2025, showcasing its recent successes and new content.

Marvel Rivals recently expressed gratitude on social media for its nomination for Online Game of the Year at the DICE Awards 2025. This prestigious awards show will mark its 28th anniversary and is slated for February 13 in Las Vegas at 11 PM ET. Fans eager to watch the event can tune in via livestream, hoping to see if Marvel Rivals secures the top honor.

NetEase Games, the developer behind Marvel Rivals, just rolled out Season 1, introducing a plethora of new content. As part of this season, The Fantastic Four will be integrated into the game’s expanding hero roster, increasing the total to 37 characters. Additionally, players can dive into a brand new game mode named Doom Match, which features a 12-player free-for-all aiming for the fastest 16 eliminations. New maps, including Midtown and Sanctum Sanctorum, have also been unveiled, with plans for a Central Park map coming in a mid-season update.

Despite launching just before the end of 2024, Marvel Rivals has been noted for its rapid success, amassing over 20 million downloads shortly after its introduction. Competing against the likes of Helldivers 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, fans remain hopeful for its chances at the awards.

The surge in popularity was further emphasized by a record-breaking concurrent player count following the Season 1 launch. Gamers are also speculating about Season 2, predicting the inclusion of Blade, believed to be imprisoned by the current season’s principal antagonist, Dracula.

Amid this backdrop, leaks hint at the near-completion of Ultron’s ability kit, generating excitement about future updates. The enthusiastic gaming community is keenly awaiting further developments from NetEase Games.
