Obsidian Entertainment has just launched Update 1.5 for Avowed. This substantial update introduces several enhancements to the RPG, including fixes for existing issues and the addition of fresh content and new mechanics for different character classes.
Originally released in February, Avowed has seen various updates over the months. The previous Update 1.4 brought a range of improvements, particularly to map exploration and quality-of-life features.
The latest patch addresses many bugs and makes significant balancing changes. Notably, both the Ranger and Fighter classes have received new abilities, enhancing their utility compared to the Wizard class. Additionally, the update includes new unique items like armor and weapons that optimize specific character builds, particularly in the early game.
Support for Korean and Japanese languages has also been added, and the game is now endorsed for Steam Deck compatibility.
This update aligns with the roadmap shared in May and enhances the user experience, bringing new elements to cater to what fans have been anticipating. The next major update is expected in Fall 2025, which may include features like New Game Plus and other enhancements. However, the future of Avowed, including potential sequels, remains uncertain, especially following the departure of Carrie Patel, who has transitioned to Night School Studio, known for titles like Oxenfree and Afterparty.
