Exciting Update for Hollow Knight: Silksong on Ultrawide Support

Hollow Knight: Silksong is set to launch on September 4, with new features including ultrawide screen support on PC.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Confirms Ultrawide Support

Ahead of the launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong on September 4, Team Cherry has announced that the game will support ultrawide screen ratios on PC. The title is currently the most wishlisted game on Steam, making it one of the most anticipated releases for gamers this year.

Recently, Team Cherry surprised fans by revealing the game’s release just weeks before launch. While this news was welcomed, it has also led to various other developers delaying their projects to avoid competition with Silksong. For instance, titles like Baby Steps and Aeterna: Lucis have postponed their launches. Some delays are just weeks long, while others, like Aeterna: Lucis, have been pushed back to 2026.

In a tweet, Matthew Griffin confirmed that the game will support ultrawide aspect ratios up to 21:9 on PC at launch. Matthew joined Team Cherry to assist with marketing and publishing ahead of the game’s debut and its post-launch period. The response to ultrawide screen support has been positive, allowing more players to enjoy the game in their preferred aspect ratio. Furthermore, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be priced at $19.99 upon release, which surprised many fans expecting a higher price.

The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass, where Ultimate subscribers will have access to it on day one at no extra cost, an announcement made previously in 2023.

Players who purchase the game on Nintendo Switch will also gain access to enhancements for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 at no additional charge when the game launches on September 4.
