YouTuber Law By Mike Takes Legal Action Against Roblox

Law By Mike, a YouTuber and attorney, is set to file a lawsuit against Roblox for alleged child safety violations amidst growing legal pressures against the platform.

YouTuber and lawyer Law By Mike has revealed plans to sue Roblox over claims that the platform is failing to provide adequate protection for children. The game has been in the spotlight recently, facing multiple lawsuits and growing criticism regarding its moderation practices. Now, with another lawsuit in the pipeline, the scrutiny on Roblox continues to expand.

Roblox

The recent controversies intensified with over 120,000 signatures on a petition urging the removal of Roblox’s CEO. Furthermore, the state of Louisiana has initiated a lawsuit citing insufficient safety measures for underage users, a case that remains unresolved. Despite these challenges, Roblox has maintained a strong performance.

Collaboration with Schlep

In a video released on September 1, Law By Mike disclosed that he is teaming up with Schlep’s legal team to pursue this case against Roblox. While Schlep has yet to formally file a lawsuit, both are advising others who have faced similar safety issues on the platform to come forward.

Their actions stem from growing concerns over moderation failures that could allow harmful individuals to exploit minors on the platform, drawing parallels with a previous lawsuit regarding a kidnapping incident involving a 13-year-old girl. Law By Mike has urged victims of such incidents to reach out to his firm for assistance.

In response to ongoing media backlash, Roblox has defended its commitment to child safety, highlighting the introduction of 40 new protective features over the past year, including enhanced chat filters and parental controls. However, Law By Mike’s assertions suggest that the platform’s safety measures may not be as effective as claimed.

Roblox is also altering its policies regarding adult content, promising more stringent access controls for underage users. The company asserts that player engagement remains strong, even amid these legal hurdles.
