Free-to-play third-person shooter MOBA Predecessor is rolling out a potentially groundbreaking update today, which will significantly change player interactions on its map. Predecessor reimagines the classic MOBA format, blending the reflexes of a third-person shooter with swift strategic thinking typical of top-down MOBAs. The new 1.8 update introduces Akeron, a playable character with exceptional vertical movement and considerable customization options. Beyond that, this update includes a multitude of optimizations, bug fixes, balance adjustments, and enhancements to the in-game store.
Predecessor’s World Shift Is a Game-Changer
The most significant feature might be the new World Shift system, designed to enhance skill expression and replayability on the default map, Sanctuary. New Shaper creatures are now part of the landscape, and defeating them triggers a World Shift, altering the terrain in diverse ways. Players can expect new paths to emerge and others to vanish, adding layers of excitement between matches.
Additionally, the update introduces a new Battle Pass with a fresh theme, contrasting its demon-centric predecessors with angelic motifs, including a new Sevarog skin and various cosmetics. The update marks the inaugural split of Ranked Season 1, featuring a drop of seven divisions and new rewards. Omeda Studios is also expanding server reach to MENA and Japan as part of their ongoing improvements.
