Rockstar Games Removes Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App
The Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app, designed for enhanced gameplay, has been quietly removed from app stores, leaving many players without access.
Rockstar Games has discreetly removed the Red Dead Redemption 2 Official Companion App from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Once available, the app has been hard to locate for some time now.
The companion app launched alongside the game in 2018, primarily serving as a map substitute that synchronized its functionality with the game screen. Gamers could efficiently set and manage waypoints right from their devices, eliminating cumbersome menu navigation. Additionally, the app included Arthur’s journal and access to in-game store inventories, marking it as a tool that enhanced the immersive nature of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Companion App Delisting on August 19
On August 19, 2025, the companion app was officially delisted from both stores, a fact confirmed by new pages on the Rockstar Support website. While Red Dead Redemption 2 has achieved over 77 million sales, the active user count for the app by 2025 remains uncertain. The reasons behind its removal remain unclear but have sparked discussions among players.
Currently, those who had previously downloaded the app can still access it via purchase history in the app stores. However, it’s no longer available for new users. Notably, users who acquired the Complete Official Guide through the app can still access that content.
