Intel's CEO Acknowledges Mistakes with Arrow Lake CPUs, Promises Nova Lake as a Solution
Intel's Arrow Lake CPUs face criticism despite several updates, as CEO admits performance issues, while hopes are pinned on the upcoming Nova Lake architecture to rectify past blunders.
Intel’s Arrow Lake desktop CPUs, released amidst high expectations, have not gained the popularity anticipated, prompting criticism from within the company. At a technology conference, Dave Zinsner, the CFO of Intel, openly stated that they ‘kind of fumbled the football… particularly [the] high performance desktop side.’ He emphasized that the forthcoming Nova Lake platform promises to deliver a more comprehensive range of products.
In Zinsner’s remarks made during the 2025 Deutsche Bank’s Technology Conference, he also discussed Intel’s performance across its CPU lineup, noting successes in mobile CPUs with the Lunar Lake series, which is gaining traction in the market. However, he recognized that the high-end desktop segment suffered due to Arrow Lake’s shortcomings, particularly in comparison to competitors like AMD.
Zinsner stated, “We don’t perform as well and it’s mostly because of this high-end desktop business that we didn’t have a good offering this year.”
