Vampire Survivors has unveiled its long-awaited online mode, now available in beta. This feature allows players to experience online multiplayer gameplay beyond the previously existing local co-op.
Developer Poncle has stated that transitioning to an online format posed significant challenges, particularly due to the variety of enemies relying on local physics, making network synchronization complex. Now, in the online mode, players can freely roam around the map, and all players level up simultaneously. However, to play any expansions, everyone in the game must own them.
In addition to the online update, Poncle has announced an official board game version of Vampire Survivors, designed to replicate the game’s feel with features like run-based play and a built-in leveling system.
Furthermore, Poncle hinted at an imminent major update introducing new stages, weapons, and characters, enhancing the gameplay experience even further.
