Five Games Departing Xbox Game Pass Today, Including Popular Co-Op Titles
Xbox Game Pass is set to lose several beloved games today, among them co-op classics.
Xbox Game Pass is losing five games later today, August 31, including three beloved co-op titles such as Borderlands 3. Despite these departures, August 2025 has turned out to be a net positive for the subscription service, with more titles joining than leaving Xbox Game Pass this month.
Barring exceptions, Microsoft usually removes titles from its subscription library twice a month—at the beginning and midpoint. The latest rotation happened on August 16, when Xbox Game Pass lost three games: Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload.
Another five titles are set to follow later today, consisting of:
- Borderlands 3
- Ben 10 Power Trip
- Sea of Stars
- This War of Mine: Final Cut
- Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay
With the exception of This War of Mine, all games feature cooperative multiplayer modes, and three—barring Ben 10 Power Trip—are favorites in co-op gaming.

Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay is designed for younger audiences, which—coupled with its mixed reviews—might have kept it under the radar. However, it offers a memorable co-op experience for young fans of the franchise.
On the other end, Borderlands 3 had a brief four-month stint before being removed. Short run times are common for 2K games, likely intended to promote the upcoming Borderlands 4, set to launch on September 12. With these departures, Xbox Game Pass will have lost eight titles in August 2025. Nonetheless, it remains a net positive with 13 new additions.
The next catalog update is anticipated on September 4, with the addition of the eagerly awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong. In addition, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will arrive on September 17, followed by Frostpunk 2 for Xbox Series X/S the following day.
