Final Fantasy 14 will be revamping its approach to game difficulty in the upcoming Patch 7.35, addressing previous challenges faced with difficulty balancing in its content.
The new update comes in response to community feedback following the less-than-ideal reception of Patch 7.25 which featured the “Occult Crescent” raid. Director Naoki Yoshida noted, “This is the general direction that we’ve set for Final Fantasy 14 moving forward.” In an effort to make content more accessible, players will be given the flexibility to select from various difficulty settings for future raids and dungeons.
With the introduction of the “Pilgrim’s Traverse” dungeon, players will now encounter content that adapts to their skill level, allowing for both casual and hardcore gameplay experiences. Yoshida emphasized the importance of this change, stating: “By implementing these adjustments, we hope to entertain a wider audience while maintaining our content’s integrity.”
While this outcome may involve reducing the overall quantity of new content, he reassured that more players would enjoy the available offerings through personalized challenges.
