Atari Acquires Rights to Five Ubisoft Titles: Cold Fear, I Am Alive, and More

Atari has purchased the rights to five previously dormant Ubisoft games, sparking hopes for potential remasters.

Ubisoft has reached into its archives and sold the intellectual property rights to five of its games to Atari. The titles include:

  • Cold Fear: A survival horror game set on a boat reminiscent of Resident Evil.
  • I Am Alive: A platform-focused survival game in a post-apocalyptic setting.
  • Child of Eden: A psychedelic rhythm game.
  • Grow Home and Grow Up: Physics-based climbing games featuring a cute robot.

Wade Rosen, the chairman and CEO of Atari, stated, “Ubisoft and Atari both have a legacy of crafting worlds that players can fall in love with—games that resonate with generations of players not just for how they played, but for how they made us feel. We’re excited to reintroduce these titles while also exploring ways to expand and evolve these franchises.”
(Translation) Atari and Ubisoft share a history of creating beloved gaming worlds that evoke nostalgia and strong feelings among players, and they look forward to bringing these titles back.

While the current plans might include ports for platforms like the Switch 2, with Atari owning Nightdive, distinguished for its remastering efforts, there’s hope for substantial revivals of these franchises.
