Pre-Orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on the Rise

The Vault Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has surpassed Battlefield 6's editions in pre-orders on the PlayStation Store.

Pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 have surged, with the game’s Vault Edition now outselling both the Standard and Phantom Editions of Battlefield 6 on the PlayStation Store. It has been four years since these franchises last went head to head, and with their releases only five weeks apart, competition is heating up.

In 2021, the launch of Battlefield 2042 faced significant backlash due to numerous bugs, glitches, and missing features. However, the recent beta for Battlefield 6 has seen over 521,000 concurrent players, marking its success in regaining player interest.

Black Ops 7 Surpasses Battlefield 6 in Pre-Order Numbers

Despite initially struggling against Battlefield 6, it appears Black Ops 7 is gaining ground with its Vault Edition now ranked higher than multiple titles, including Borderlands 4 and the Standard Edition of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. However, it still trails behind NBA 2K26, which continues to dominate the pre-order charts.

Activision has expressed confidence in Call of Duty, believing it to be “too big to fail,” backed by two decades of annual releases and consistent chart-topping performances.

While pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 seem to be improving, the game has faced its share of controversies, including its reveal trailer accumulating nearly 400,000 dislikes. Concerns among gamers revolve around long-standing issues like bugs, microtransactions, and community dissatisfaction with prior entries in the series.
