Put aside your gardening tools and immerse yourself in Strange Horticulture, a gripping narrative puzzle game that lets you manage a unique plant shop. This week, it’s available for free on Epic.
Unveiled in 2022, the game transports players to an alternate reality Lake District town of Undermere, where you step into the shoes of a plant shop owner. Each day, customers enter your shop with vague requests for specific plants, and using an intriguing magnifying glass and an extraordinary horticultural textbook, you must help them find the right greenery.
As you explore, a mysterious and dark narrative unfolds, populated by ever stranger characters and even odder plants. By discovering the unique properties of these plants, from medicinal herbs to lethal mushrooms, you guide the storyline in different directions.
Previously praised by Chris Livingston who rated it 90, he remarked, “Strange Horticulture is the best detective game I’ve played in years, and it’s largely about staring at plants.”
This offer is valid until August 28, and with a sequel, Strange Antiquities slated for release in September, there’s no better time to play!
