A new listing for Starfield on Nintendo Switch 2 has appeared on an online retail site, igniting speculation about the release of the outer space action-RPG on Nintendo’s upcoming hybrid console. While Nintendo has yet to officially confirm anything regarding a Switch 2 version, the idea of a port has gained substantial support from fans.
Bethesda launched Starfield in September 2023, aiming to create a new open-world RPG to compete with its established franchises, Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. However, the game did not meet high expectations during its initial release, which was exclusive to Xbox Series X|S and PC. Despite receiving praise from critics, the player reception was more muted, currently sitting with mixed reviews on platforms like Steam and OpenCritic.
Online Store Lists Starfield for Nintendo Switch 2
Despite its rocky launch, many gamers are eager for Starfield to be available on other platforms. Recently, a reputable leaker claimed that the game could be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. An online retailer, Instant Gaming, has listed Starfield as a title set for release on Switch 2, although no pre-order option is available yet.
The Switch 2 is the latest console being discussed in relation to Starfield. Rumors also suggest that a PlayStation 5 version might be in the works, with potential plans for release in Spring 2026 coinciding with the game’s second expansion.
While these rumors remain unconfirmed, they reflect a strong desire among fans to see Starfield expand beyond its initial platforms.
