Escape From Tarkov Set for Full Release After Years in Beta

The highly influential extraction shooter Escape From Tarkov is finally reaching version 1.0 this November after nearly a decade in beta.

Escape From Tarkov, a major player in the extraction shooter genre, will officially launch on November 15, 2025, after eight years spent in beta. This long-awaited release follows over 400 updates from its developer, Battlestate Games. The launch comes just a day after the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, marking a significant moment for Tarkov’s dedicated player base.

The studio expressed heartfelt gratitude towards players for their support throughout the game’s testing phase, which has shaped its development significantly.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to every player whose dedication and active participation throughout the testing period played a key role in the development of Escape from Tarkov,” said Battlestate Games.

The extended beta period has sparked discussion on the evolving definitions of ‘beta’ and ’early access’ in the gaming industry, as many titles remain in these phases much longer than expected.
