Dead by Daylight developers from Behaviour Interactive have expressed their enthusiasm about integrating notable horror icons into the game, specifically the 2022 doll M3GAN and the acclaimed horror author Stephen King, renowned for his works like It and The Shining.
In a recent update, the developers have introduced a new killer named The Houndmaster, the first Killer to come equipped with an AI-controlled companion, alongside a Survivor named Taurie Cain.
Summary of Changes
- The devs aim to enhance character diversity by considering iconic horror figures.
- King’s involvement, however, is uncertain due to his known reluctance towards video games.
- The latest update in February resolved several bugs, rejuvenated gameplay elements, and hinted at the reintroduction of the 2v8 mode.
Mathieu Côté, the game director, remarked, “I would love to get Stephen King himself in our game because he has historically included himself as a character in his stories.” However, he also noted that King’s general aversion to video games poses a significant hurdle for any potential collaboration.
Additionally, Jean Escalante, the senior game designer, mentioned a growing interest in bringing M3GAN into the fray, as it is perceived to be a fresh addition to their already eclectic lineup.
