Valve is continuing to develop the MOBA game Deadlock, previously announced in an invite-only format last August. The upcoming update will introduce a significant facelift to both the dashboard and character selection screen, alongside the gradual release of six new heroes over the next two weeks. Among these is Mina, a vampire character set to drop with the August 18 update. Mina is characterized as a glass cannon, proficient in delivering swift bursts of Spirit damage from a distance. Additionally, she can morph into a bat to evade danger, with her ultimate ability unleashing a horde of bats that target and silence nearby foes.
Valve has planned for the community to have a say in the order of hero releases through a voting mechanism after each match. The other newly introduced characters include the demonic goat Billy, bookworm Paige, the aptly named Doorman, Victor, and a mysterious red-eyed figure known as Drifter. Valve has released concept art for each hero, sparking interest in their abilities and roles in gameplay.
The update is particularly notable for its community engagement and balance adjustments that will follow each new hero’s introduction, indicating that Valve is committed to refining the gameplay experience.
