Skibidi Now Officially Recognized in the Dictionary
The term 'skibidi' has been added to the Cambridge Dictionary, becoming part of modern vernacular.
I’m not entirely sure about the phenomenon myself.
Despite my confusion, it seems the broader world has accepted “skibidi,” as it has now been included in the Cambridge Dictionary, joining a list of 6,000 recently added words, including terms like “delulu” and “tradwife.” This information is quite enlightening.
As for the definition of skibidi? It intriguingly reflects its abstract nature: “a word that can signify various meanings, like ‘cool’ or ‘bad,’ or can be humorously used without a specific meaning.” Examples of its use include sentences like “What the skibidi are you doing?” and “That wasn’t very skibidi rizz of you.”
Before the famous Skibidi Toilet series emerged, ‘skibidi’ had also been a song by Little Big back in 2018. Alexey Gerasimov popularized the term through the machinima, featuring a narrative of conflict between human-headed toilets and humanoids with camera heads, ostensibly defending the world from these unusual toilets. The series has amassed a multitude of episodes, amassing tens of millions of views.
While you might not be able to use skibidi in competitive games like Scrabble, its inclusion in the Cambridge Dictionary is a testament to its acceptance and significance in our culture today.
