On August 19, PlayStation Plus updated its game library by adding 11 new titles. As per usual with such expansions, the majority of these games require a PS Plus Extra subscription, while a few are exclusive to Premium members.

This update follows the restructuring of PS Plus into three tiers in mid-2022, maintaining a consistent content release pattern. Essential games are available on the first Tuesday of each month, whereas Extra and Premium titles are released on the third Tuesday.

Today’s catalog update, which began around noon ET, now grants subscribers access to popular titles like Spider-Man Remastered and Mortal Kombat 1, along with acclaimed indie games like Harold Halibut and Coral Island. Other additions include Earth Defense Force 6, Sword of the Sea, Indika, Unicorn Overlord, and Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End and the Secret Key.

Additionally, this catalog update includes two remakes from Capcom’s Resident Evil series, specifically the second and third entries, exclusively accessible to PS Plus Premium subscribers. Conversely, the other nine titles are available for players with the more budget-friendly Extra subscription.

Sony generally does not announce how long specific games will remain available on PS Plus, yet many titles have historically stayed for at least a year. While first-party games might differ in this respect—sometimes remaining indefinitely—there have been instances of Sony removing them after a period. For example, Horizon Forbidden West was taken off the service back in September 2024.
