2K Games Dismisses Michael Condrey Post Project Ethos Reveal
Michael Condrey has reportedly lost his position at 2K Games following the unimpressive reveal of his studio's new game, Project Ethos.
Michael Condrey, a known figure from the Call of Duty series and as co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, has been reportedly let go by 2K Games from his role as president of the 31st Union studio following the lackluster introduction of the game ‘Project Ethos’.
While Project Ethos seemed promising in earlier previews, the game’s reveal did not elicit the excitement expected, especially coming shortly after the disappointing launch of a different hero shooter.
According to sources, this lack of appeal is considered the main reason behind Condrey’s termination. Despite the circumstances, development on Project Ethos will proceed, with Condrey still active in an advisory capacity.
A spokesperson for 2K expressed gratitude toward Condrey, acknowledging his effort to build a strong team and contribute to the studio’s vision but confirmed the transition of his role to advisory duties only.
As the gaming landscape remains competitive, it will be interesting to see how Project Ethos evolves with its new direction.
