Rooster Teeth Revives Under Original Co-Founder After Closure
Rooster Teeth has been brought back to life by one of its original founders, Burnie Burns, less than a year after its closure by Warner Bros.
In a surprising turn of events, Rooster Teeth, a well-known online entertainment company, has been revived under the ownership of co-founder Burnie Burns after being shut down by Warner Bros. in 2024.
“Almost one year ago, we were all saddened to learn that Rooster Teeth would be shutting its doors,” Burns announced. “Today, I am very happy to say that I have completed an acquisition of the Rooster Teeth brand and many of its remaining properties.”
Burns stated that he acquired the rights to the brand and some of its assets. He emphasized the importance of this acquisition via a recent podcast episode, explaining that certain shows and properties previously associated with Rooster Teeth are not included in this deal.
The focus of this revival will be on the Rooster Teeth channels, including the website, YouTube channel, and social media accounts. Burns mentioned that there are plans to restart production by summer 2025, featuring a mix of returning shows and new content.
Burns also discussed his commitment to improving the internet experience, highlighting a goal to “de-shittify” their digital space and enhance the quality of the content produced.
Although it remains early days for the revived Rooster Teeth, the gaming community appears enthusiastic about the brand’s return.
